Hey hey hey! This week was just amazing…….
Carnival here in Bolivia continued this week, and we got hammered with water balloons and with foam. To be honest it was super fun getting sprayed with water balloons because this last week was super hot! It was nice to cool down a little.
On Tuesday we got invited to have a BBQ with the Crespo family, and holy cow, it was the best food that I have eaten here in my entire mission. We were cooking for about 3 hours; we had about 2 kilos of carne, 2 kilos of chicken and 2 kilos of sausage. It was the best think in the world. I love that family so much! They are all so amazing, and have very strong testimonies of the gospel. They are all recent converts, and I’m so lucky to know them. They are such a big help to so many people. They are like a family away from family. They tell us everything and always help us with missionary work. All we did Tuesday was eat and laugh, and then we played some games. Afterwards we left to go to the church for a major activity that we missionaries were putting on. We had a very big turn out which was awesome! Many of our recent converts, less actives, and investigators came, and it was the best! We set up about 8 different games to play, and were put into different groups and competed to see who was the winner. After that we had a crazy huge water balloon fight for about an hour and a half. It was a blast, and everyone there loved it so much. Then we went home and went right to bed! We were totally wiped out from the whole week. Ha, ha, ha!
This week was truly amazing! We had the opportunity to help a bunch of people and we got to do a lot of service, but I would like to tell you about one story in particular. There is a less active that we have been trying to teach for a very long time, but nothing has been happening and he hasn’t been progressing. We decided to schedule a meeting with him in the church this `past Saturday. We talked about the Book of Mormon and the importance of reading it. We explained that it is a book from God and can help us grow closer to our Heavenly Father. We taught him that the only way that we can know that this is the true church is if we pray and ask God himself. We challenged him to do that exact thing. We asked him if he could give the closing prayer to our lesson, and as he started to pray he asked the Father if he could know that this church was correct. Then we kept silent for about a minuet and ended the prayer. The spirit was so strong in the room; each and every one of us had tears rolling down our cheeks. We were filled with the spirit. In that moment the Lord not only answered his, (Alex) prayers, but he answered our prayers as well. Each and every one of us could feel that this was the true and living church of God here on the earth. It was such an amazing experience to feel that.
Love you all so much. See you next week! Please write me if you have the time. I love reading your letters!
